Hi Rani -- I'm glad you enjoyed the article. It's amazing how creative we can become when we let go of the need to be creative and stop beating ourselves up when we lack ideas. Best, Chris

Hi Juliet -- thanks for your comment. On the issue of whether your ideas are "yours" or not, I'm fine with the notion that my ideas are "mine" in the sense that I'm the one receiving them from whatever power brings them about (like a lightning rod receives lightning). The question for me is how much pride or validation I take from them, or how much I see them as making me special.

If I can treat my ideas as "mine" without seeking "specialness" or validation from them and how much other people like them, that's fine with me as well. Like you say, if my sense of value has nothing to do with the quality of my ideas, that's great too. I think it's when we start to see having ideas as making us valuable or special that our productivity and self-esteem actually suffer. -- Best, Chris

Hi

I have exactly the same experience as you. Creative ideas come to me out of the blue - or most of all during meditation.
I really like your idea of a quick meditation every now and then!

But, I disagree that thos ideas are not yours. I believe they are yours, they just been stuck or hidden behind the hectic flurry of life as it seems to be. If you are more comfortable with the thought that they are coming from a higher consciousness (and I may be persuaded on that issue), then it is still you who is accessing them.

I also think that one's value as a human being is not dependent on outside validation. So, what others think of your writing (and I emphasize "yours") is irrelevant. You are valuable and that understanding comes from within.

You thoughts on ego-involvement are interesting.
